The project is a public services building which is part of an urban renovation plan in a degraded neighborhood with a high rate of immigrant population and that, according to the city council, will improve the economical and social of the entire area. The chosen plot is placed on an industrial area surrounded by shopping centers.
The surface for the centre has a total of 5.793,00 m2., from which a surface of 1.961 m2 .is kept as a green area.
The building design pursuits the rational and constructive simplicity. According to this, the low high spaces (changing rooms, circulation spaces, classrooms and offices) are built with load bearing walls, prestressed concrete beams slabs and concrete blocks walls.
The central playground in where the main activity is developed is built with prefabricated concrete pillars and large spam laminated wood beams. The light roof is made of metallic sheets with thermal insulation incorporated. The material execution budget (PEM) of the building was 2.250.000 €.
